A New Home for the Homeless:

Thanks to the Patricia McGavock Fund for the Humane Treatment of Animals, administered by the Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee, we recently purchased four acres of land which will be the future site for a new animal shelter. Patricia McGavock's wishes were for these funds to help animals in Wilson County. The property is located at 2550 N. Hwy. 109 in the city of Lebanon. We chose this property because of its central location and high traffic count.

This planned state of the art facility will allow us to help even more animals and offer more services to our community. We have been raising funds for several years, however, much more is needed to build and fund a new, larger facility. We hope that all members of HAWC will rally together to help support our dream of a better place to help animals in Wilson County.

Purchasing this land was a huge step toward the dream. Watch for new fundraising programs in the near future. Thank you for all for your support.

In our new facility we hope to have the following:

  • More comfortable living space for the pets in our care
  • Rooms for people to meet and interact with pets before adoption
  • An inviting lobby area
  • A veterinary clinic
  • Retail supply area
  • Dog park
  • Training and education room
  • Bathing and grooming area
  • Rehabilitation area for injured or ill pets
With your help we can realize our dream in the near future. All donations are tax deductible and can be made to:

We are currently working on fund raising activities to help us achieve our dream. If you would like to help with fund raising events, click HERE.

Our prayer for the future is that our shelter will cease to exist as there will be no unwanted, unloved or abandoned pets. We hope to accomplish this through an owner education program and an aggressive spay/neuter campaign.

Your prayers and donations are greatly appreciated. If you have any ideas for future fund raisers please drop us a note, we can use all the help we can get :-)

We are also seeking donations for the following:

  • Aluminum for recycling
  • Newspaper
  • Paper Towels
  • Cat litter
  • Cleaning Supplies (Bleach, Laundry detergent, dish soap)
  • Food donations (Nutro, Hills, Iams, or Purina preferred)

For general monetary contributions to help defray operating expenses, please send to:
